Opinion essay on zoos are inhumane.

These days, many schools go to zoos for activity. Some people say zoos are good for kid’s growth and education. But, if you were locked in a cage, do you think you are happy with living in a zoo? Zoos are inhumane to animals. These should be closed to protect them. Animals act weird in a cage when they get stressed and they should live in a nature.
Animals get stressed when they are locked in a cage because the size of cage is not enough for them. According to the inspection of whole zoos in the world between June, 2012 and May, 2013, animals exhibition areas are too small and it harms ecological habits. They cannot act freely which gives heavy stress. If animals get heavy stress, they won’t do much exercise and their health will deteriorate. Furthermore, some animals act ‘Stereotyped Behavior’ because of the obsession. For example, bears shake their body, walk around the same place and eat excrement. This behavior is obsessional behavior, which is autism.
Animals should grow up in the nature. Walking on the concrete is dangerous to their legs. They should walk on the soft soil. When I travelled to Chicago, I went to Shedd Aquarium. At Shedd Aquarium, you can see 8,000 types of aquatic animals and 32,000 animals. The most impressive thing was when I got into the aquarium, there was a big line up to touch a huge fish. I thought it was really inhumane because that fish will feel people touching them. Also, there were dolphin and penguin shows. When you see that show, do you think they are happy? These shows are also inhumane. These are the main event at the zoo but it can shorten their life and should be banned.
Zoos are inhumane places made by human’s greed. Zoos cannot support animals from a crisis of extinction. Think of animals as humans. People have right to be happy, so do anmals. To make them happier, we have to close the zoo.
